Law enforcement officers work for tips to benefit Special Olympics Friday at Texas Roadhouse

 

Cops and Cowboys is scheduled for this Friday April 26 at Texas Roadhouse in Evansville Indiana.  Law Enforcement Officers from the Evansville City Police Department, Vanderburgh County Sheriffs Deputies and Vanderburgh Confinement Officers with be assisting the wait staff to collect tips for Special Olympics.  All proceeds will benefit local athletes. 

You can come by for lunch and dinner, meet our local heroes and help a worthy cause.

Thai Papaya moving into new location this summer

Thai Papaya restaurant will be moving to a new east side location later this year.  As you can see from the photo above, construction continues on the new building at 1434 Tutor Lane.

According to their Facebook page, the new restaurant will seat about 150 patrons inside and 50 more on an outside patio when it is finished later this spring.

That new restaurant taking the place of Lone Star Steakhouse plans a June 2013 opening.

Company officials withJason's Deli say barring unforseen circumstances they hope to be ready to serve customers by that date.  Based in Beaumont, TX, Jason's Deli is a national chain. 

Once open, the menu will include healthy sandwiches, potatoes, soups, salads, and pastas. They'll even offer vegetarian and gluten sensitive items.

IHOP will once again invite guests to enjoy free pancakes during National Pancake Day on February 5, 2013, while celebrating Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30th Anniversary. On this day, the restaurant chain hopes to raise $3 million as the first national fundraising campaign to kick off the 2013 fundraising year for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

New restaurant opens on east side

St. Louis, MO-based Bandana’s Bar-B-Q opened its newest location at 6636 Logan Dr, Evansville Monday. The 32- unit chain currently operates locations in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana with plans to continue expansion within these states while looking at opportunities in Ohio, Nebraska and Kentucky. Plans call for 5-10 new locations in the next 18 months. Expansion will be both corporate and franchised.

Area Pizza King Restaurants are teaming up with 911 Gives Hope and the Boys and Girls Club to raise money for local children. 

The 2012 “Stromfest” is underway and will continue until Saturday September 29. A portion of every strom sold will go to 911 Gives Hope and the Boys and Girls Club of Evansville.

Donate $1 at any Pizza King and you will be entered into a drawing to win a free strom a week for a full year.

Donate $5 and you will be entered into the drawing 6 times.

Blimey you say? Well there’s more.  To the lad or lass wearing full pirate attire goes a bounty of one free dozen Original Glazed doughnuts.
