Discount movie theater going out of business | News
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- It looks like Evansville's only discount movie theater will soon go dark, for good.
The owners of the theater, the Stieler family, say they're 99% sure Showplace South on Hebron avenue will be torn down sometime this summer.
They say it is too costly to convert to digital. Mick Stieler says one film company has announced it will stop releasing film, and they think others will follow.
For now, they are continuing to show movies for $3.75 and under per ticket.
