EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- Today is National Pancake Day and IHOP restaurants nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of its buttermilk pancakes.
At the IHOP on Burkhardt Road in Evansville, you can get free pancakes from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. today.
It's an effort to raise awareness and funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other local charities.
Their goal is to raise $13 million nationwide.
For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served on this national pancake day, IHOP guests are invited to make a voluntary donation to children's miracle network hospitals.
Fun facts:
- IHOP served four million free pancakes last year.
- All of the free pancakes served on national pancake day 2012 would create a stack nearly 16 miles high.
- National pancake day 2012 was IHOP's largest one-day event in the company's 54-year history.
They're hoping to top that this year.
