Soon you'll be able to watch Roberts Stadium come down live | News
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- You'll soon be able to watch as Roberts Stadium comes down brick by brick with out ever having to leave your home.
The city is working on setting up a webcam that will stream live video online and it may be ready sooner than you think.
The bricks have been completely removed from the west side of the building, but it's the inside that is most drastic.
Denise Johnson, Director of Parks and Recreation, says that as early as next week, they might have a webcam up and running so you can see the progress for yourself.
She says the webcam will be posted inside an office at Swonder Ice Arena which is next door.
Right now they're still ironing out the details but she says once the camera is running, there will most likely be a link on the city website were you can watch it.
She says it will probably be up in time for you to watch the asphalt come up.
"That should start some time in the middle of January and that will take about 30 days. They will bring equipment in, take it up grind it and get that off and there will be a rock bed underneath the asphalt," said Johnson.
Denise Johnson says the demolition is right on schedule. The city has a target date to have it complete by may 10th. We'll keep you posted.
