Indiana has the fifth lowest average gasoline price in the United States according to GasBuddy.com. The average price for a gallon of unleaded in the Hoosier state was $3.34 per gallon as of Thursday and prices are continuing to dip.
On Evansville's east side, several stations had dropped their prices to $3.28 per gallon by Thursday morning and at Sam's Club off Burkhardt Road, a gallon was selling for $3.25, the lowest price in the city. CountryMark at Lincoln and South Dexter was at $3.27.
While some believe the decline in prices has to do with politics, analyst Patrick DeHaan says it's really a matter of seasonal factors. Prices aren't expected to rise--or fall--much further for at least a few weeks.
