Subway restaurant reopens after being robbed twice | News
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)- An Evansville Subway restaurant reopened Saturday after it was robbed for the second time Friday night
The armed robbery occurred at the restaurant at 1677 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville.
Evansville Police said a man walked into the restaurant around 9:15 p.m. wearing a mask. Police say he displayed a silver hand gun and fled the scene with cash.
The robbery occurred shortly before the restaurant closed for the night at 10 PM. Police say 2 workers were inside the restaurant at the time, but no customers. No one was hurt.
This is the same Subway restaurant that was robbed less than a month ago.
Investigators say they believe the suspect involved in Friday's robbery is the same person who robbed this Subway location in April and the same one who robbed the Subway on Covert & Lodge a few weeks ago.
A perimeter was placed around the scene and police searched the alleyways.
Investigators have also pulled surveillance video from Subway. We will share that with you when we receive it, likely in the next few days.
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
