Lincoln School back on schedule with other EVSC schools | News
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)-
The Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation school board voted on a plan to change Lincoln School's schedule Monday night.
"It hurts numbers, for us, but it's not just about numbers. It's about accommodating as many families and kids as we can," says Ron Ryan, the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club. "If everybody's on the same schedule, it's common sense. You're going to be able to serve more kids, have the snacks for them. You know, all the learning, the tutoring for the kids, which is very important. They lose out on that."
The Boys and Girls Club says one big thing Lincoln kids miss out on is a trip to Holiday World for kids who participate in a tutoring program.
This change will go into effect for this coming school year, the 2013-2014 school year.
The EVSC says to help families out with the schedule change, they're going to offer 15 days of extra learning opportunities before the school year for Lincoln students.
