Woman struggles but purse thief wins | Crime

An east side woman told Evansville Police she was the victim of a purse snatching outside her apartment complex.

Police say it happened a little after 9 p.m. Monday on East Franklin, near Swonder Ice Arena.

The 56-year-old woman said she was accosted by a man as she got out of her vehicle.  They struggled for the purse and the strap broke, but the white male suspect grabbed it and ran away.

Detectives arrived to process the scene and the investigation continues.
