Evansville Police are looking for a man who stole a purse from Macy's and assaulted a store employee.
It happened late Tuesday morning at the Eastland Mall store.
According to a police report, a floor employee alerted a loss prevention officer of two subjects who had picked up an expensive Coach purse. She asked them if she could ring it up and they put it back on the rack.
However, they later took it back off the rack and the employee told police they tried to conceal it while pushing a baby stroller.
The LOP approached them after the left the store and walked into the mall area. The man handed the purse back to her and she asked him to come back and fill out papers, promising not to call police if he complied.
That's when the suspect punched the LPO in the shoulder and took off.
No arrests have been made.
