Mike’s Carwash will donate $11,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ohio Valley and the EVSC Foundation to support local one-to-one youth mentoring educational programming after a fundraising car wash weekend.
The money was raised last Friday and Saturday during when customers were given a free Works wash. In lieu of payment for the carwash, a $15 value, customers could choose to make a donation to support the non-profit organizations. Close to 4000 Works washes were provided over the two-day period.
“We are so pleased that so many people came out and gave generously during this event. The money will go directly to support local mentoring programs that start success stories in our community,” says BBBS Executive Director Anna Hargis.
Big Brothers Big Sisters will host a Bowl for Kids’ Sake kick-off luncheon in downtown Evansville at Vectren on February 11 at noon. The $5,500 check will be presented as part of the luncheon catered by Spudz ‘N’ Stuff.
